HOME Welcome to the Canadian Holistic Wellness Academy - "Where Learning is Natural" We are a private educational organization founded to help foster and encourage holistic wellness practice services by providing practical and hands-on education and knowledge for both experienced and novice practitioners interested in pursuing a career in this industry. Our head office is located in the heart of North York 3050 Yonge Street, Suite 201 at the SW corner of Lawrence Avenue just above Coffee Time convenient subway & public transit bus stop services at our doorstep. One of the key benefits of enrolling at the Canadian Holistic Wellness Academy - whereby the school shares both class and office space; the "Principal" - Mrs. Anne Shi has generously agreed to allow students to observe and learn first-hand her Pain Management and Healthcare Clinic. Current treatment includes acupuncture, spinal decompression, neck and back traction, weight loss, shiatsu therapy, tuina therapy, acupressure, cupping, Swedish and European massage, pain management, diet and exercise counseling and traditional medicine consulting. In addition to regular class instruction; the obvious key benefit is real life case studies. Canadian Holistic Wellness Academy also has a campus in Richmond Hill where students take part in a co-op work program earning valuable course credits towards their minimum 80 hours course curriculum. The campus is located at 568 Sheppard Ave West / Bathurst beside RBC bank plaza. This campus plays an integral part of the Canadian Holistic Wellness Academy as is licensed by the City of Toronto which requires Holistic Practitioners and Owners compliance with Municipal Code Chapter 545. As such for those students wishing to work for any approved "holistic center" in the City of Toronto - in addition to our approved course certificate program must also include in their application for a holistic practitioner’s license "be a member in good standing". Upon satisfactory completion of our Level I & II course in Holistic Wellness training; you will be recommended for application and membership to a **Professional Holistic Association (PHA) that meets the City of Toronto’s criteria with respect to the licensing approval of PHAs. **On December 7, 2005, City Council adopted the Planning and Transportation Committee Report 10, Clause 9, entitled “Qualified Professional Holistic Associations Whose Members may be Licensed as City of Toronto Holistic Practitioners and Owners.” As a result, applicants for a holistic practitioner’s license must be a member in good standing of at least one of the PHAs recognized by the City of Toronto. Existing holistic practitioners whose licenses expired after March 7, 2006, are required to be a member of a PHA recognized by the City of Toronto. |
